One dental specialty in particular broke the Top 10 ranks in three different categories in 2019. Can you guess which it is?

If you guessed prosthodontist, you are correct.

According to a new ranking from the U.S. News and World Report’s annual ranking of “The 25 Best Jobs,” prosthodontists ranked #9 this year, up 7 spots from 2018.

This year it also broke the top 10 for “Best Healthcare Jobs,” coming in at number 7, compared to number 14 in 2018.

It made another top 10, too: “best paying jobs,” with an estimated median salary of $185,150.

There is even more good news for those thinking about entering this specialty. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics pegs estimated demand for prosthodontists to rise by 19.1% by 2026.

U.S. News and World Report based its findings on several factors, including employment rate, work-life balance, as well as the potential for job growth.
